I hope you are enjoying the break. Congratulations to all of you who participated inour December concert,Handel’s Messiah, celebrating Randy’s 30th year of conducting MVCS. We had a HUGE and very receptive audience! Our sincere appreciation goes to our Artistic Director, Randy, to Ann Kocuba for our rehearsal and concert accompaniment, to our orchestra members, and to our four soloists. Thank YOU all for your efforts in making the concert very successful. Your continued participation and support of our concerts is wonderful and greatly appreciated.
The Spring rehearsal season, under the direction of Assistant Artistic Director, Mark Bunce, will begin Monday, January 21, at 7:00P.M., in the Vocal Music Room at Central Valley Academy. Rehearsals are two hours each week, concluding at 9:00 P.M. Directions to CVA are on the Member’s Information page of the website should you need them. New members are definitely welcome . . . we always need singers. Most of us joined because we were personally invited. So, if you know someone who sings, please feel free to invite and encourage him/her/them to join us this spring. The spring concert will be Sunday, May 19, at CVA.
This spring we will be singing Sing for the Cure, a proclamation of hope. We intend to offer a portion of the proceeds of this concert to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The music cost for the fall is $15.00. The Choral Society dues for this semester will be $15.00. We remind you that members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly in order to maintain the vocal integrity of the group.
This semester we will again have TEN Choral Society “Student Enrichment in Vocal Music” award winners singing with us. These students are from Central Valley Academy, Herkimer, Little Falls, Poland, and West Canada Valley Central Schools.
We hope to see YOU in attendance this semester. Enjoy the rest of the break!
Hoping to see you soon,
Donyce McCluskey, President
